Odin is a tool of Samsung which is generally used for flashing the official firmware on Samsung mobile. You can flashwhich are meant for your mobile but not released in your country (not available on kies). Even for flashing the custom recovery like recovery or recovery you will need this tool. Though the use of this tool is illegal since Samsung has not released this tool for the personal use, it will not cause any damage to your mobile as long as you know how to use it.
You must turn off Windows firewall or antivirus software on computer to use Odin tool. Also you cannot use Odin if you have installed Kies on your computer.
Here is the list of different versions of Odin and their respective supported devices. Hi, I tried this on my Galaxy FIT – GT S5670 (purchased in US – not sure if the software has any issues – hence mentioning here) that runs on Gingerbread.
ODIN shows the timer running after I hit the start button (ops and one file selected) but does not complete the download even in 2 hours. Tried this couple of times on different computers, laptops, but no luck. Now my phone is not exiting the Download mode, I tried removing battery and restarting th ephone but the phone still shows download mode (icon of computer connected to Cell phone appears). Can anyone help how to exit the download mode and booting the device? Hellow, my samsung galaxy mini s5570 don’t continue booting after showed first samsung logo. The problem occured when I was rooting it by proceding as folows: first I’ve installed CWM and ROM Manager successfuly, but I couldn’t see them in recovery manager at statup and I couldn’t unistall them.

I have updated Galaxy GT i5510 firmware from froyo to Gingerbread before 10-11 months. So far it was working great but last week i found my mobile in boot loop. I was able to use “Recovery Mode” using T + Power button, then i pressed the option “wipe data factory reset” – and then, “Yes — delete all user” option. Below these options, there was a following message in YELLOW color — Appling Muti-CSC — Can’t access to ‘/system csc/INU/system’. I pressed “Yes — delete all user”. I have got following message in yellow color – Formatting /data E:formatvolume: rfs for at failed on /dev/stl13 Formatting /cache Data wipe complete. Then i choosed “reboot system now” option but same boot loop issue is still there 2.
Then i again used the “Recovery Mode” to “wipe cache partition”. It was successful.
Then i again pressed “reboot system now” but same boot loop issue is still there. As it’s in boot loop, kies shows connecting device.but never connects.

I tried to flash using ODIN but it is not detecting my device. Please help me! Sorry for my late response. Yes, i am able to boot into download mode. This weekend, i bought a new USB cable and now odin can detect my phone.
I again flashed the same Gingerbread version (Europeon version for GB 2.3.4), but still boot loop problem is there. It will be very helpful if anyone can help me. I tried the following -: 1. I have un-installed the Kies. Removed my battery and sim, then pressed power key for one minute. Thne i flashed the firmware again. Flash process was successful (with blue “PASS”) 5.
Boot loop issue was still there 6. I wiped the data and cache in Recovery mode. Still phone is facing boot loop issue. Can you help on below?
